For the first time since January, Florida’s other metro areas lost more ground on existing-home prices than Orlando did, according to an October sales report released Monday by Florida Realtors. Metro Orlando’s median single-family home price dropped to $127,800 last month from $130,800 a year earlier — a 2 percent decline. For metro areas statewide, the median house price was down 4 percent from October 2010. Meanwhile, single-family resales in Orlando’s four-county metro area also increased at a faster rate during the past year than resales statewide. Realtors in Orange, Seminole, Osceola and Lake counties reported 2,136 sales during October, up 17 percent from a year earlier. Sales in all of Florida’s metropolitan areas combined rose 13 percent during that time. Buoyed by lower interest rates and improved consumer confidence, sales increased in 17 of 19 metro areas across the state last month, the state Realtor association’s chief economist reported Friday. The median price fell from $136,600 a year ago to $131,200.
